All About Freeze Dried Candy

FAQs

What does freeze dried mean?

Freeze-drying is a dehydration technique that removes water content from food and other products by sublimation.

What is the process?

The process involves three steps: freezing, primary drying, and secondary drying.

Freeze-drying is a high-quality dehydration process that preserves a product’s nutritional value, taste, and appearance. Freezing inhibits chemical and microbiological processes, which delays the deterioration and extends shelf life of products.

Shelf life/how long can I store it/does it go bad?

One of the benefits of freeze-dried candy is that it can last much longer than the original candy, but how long depends on how you store it! What happens to freeze-dried candy if it’s not properly stored? Moisture, air and heat will cause freeze dried candy to go stale.
